Baby sky, passing

November 17, 2009

Brittle sidewalk path beneath
Baby sky, passing
Into the memories over my shoulder.
Reclaiming the innocence you despise
With the sensitivity I call mine.
Lingering lust intrinsic
To my swashbuckling mentality
Spreading seeds over the jagged edge
Caressed by the erosion of time.

Sand, rocks and pebbles are compacted
By the infinite swell I
Have lost my way within.
Over time the edges become smooth
From patience learned on the
Long voyage.
Homeward?
Who can tell when
The gray mist of mornings uncertain
Complicate the volatility of loneliness.
